SIMPLE DETAILS {MY FAVORITE 5}

Good Morning friends!  As you read this I'm somewhere on I-70 between OKC and Baltimore.  We're off on an epic road trip!  We'll be in Baltimore for several days and then go to Washington D.C. for several days.  Come follow along with all the fun on Instagram!  And, any good restaurant recommendations (our kids are with us too) are appreciated for both cities!

In light of my absence, I've invited some very talented blog friends to share with you.  Today we kick off My Favorite Five with the one and only Pam from Simple Details.  Pam and I connected when our blogs were just babies and have been fast friends ever since (but I have a feeling that she makes everyone feel like her best friend!).  She can complete a "look for less" knock-off DIY project like no other, and I hope some day her flawless sense of styles rubs off a little on me.  Enjoy Pam's top 5 Favorite Posts!

Hi there, I'm Pam from Simple Details, and I'm thrilled to be hanging out with all
of you Dimples & Tangles' fans today. Jennifer and I started blogging about the
same time and she was one of my first blog buddies, I couldn't be more excited
to help kick off this fun series while she's taking a break with her cute family!
I know I don't need to tell you that she is all kinds of awesome, and how much
I love her, her beautiful home and blog!

I chose five favorites that best describe what Simple Details is about - decorating
a stylish space with Craigslist and thrifting treasures, packed with DIY projects.

Decked out... I love getting our yard and deck ready to take on summer
with family and friends. This was a labor of love when I made over our
potting bench and a garage sale settee.

Teen boy's room... Detail Boy definitely has an opinion and it was so much
fun working together, after we got past that a reclining sectional with cup
holders and TV weren't the direction I envisioned. :)

Christmas in Colorado... is one of my favorite times of year, I love changing up
our decor each year and being a bit unconventional with our Christmas tree.

Knock off foyer reveal... coming up with a way to knock off a pricey item makes
me do a happy dance in the aisles of Home Depot. Even more exciting is when
it's so simple and inexpensive I get fun email from readers showing me theirs!

I profess my love for a favorite item from Ikea in a post each month.
The inspiration rooms have become a reader favorite. This was my first
one two years ago, and a more recent post here.

I'd love you to stop by and visit me at Simple Details, there's always something
in the works over at our little place, or you can also find me on Instagram.

Thank you so much for having me my rock star blogging buddy,
I'm so thankful to be sharing this adventure with you!

  11. Jennifer,I am originally from Baltimore! Make sure you go to Fort McHenry and take the tour. They tell you the history of the battle and at the end the curtains open and you see the flag flying - amazing not a dry eye in the house! Go to the Inner Harbor as well if you have time. The National Aquarium is also in the Inner Harbor - well worth it if you like that kind of thing. If you have small children take the Submarine tour and the Constellation tour. The kids usually love those. The Constellation is a wooden ship that its sister sits in Boston harbor (The Constitution). The Edgar Allan Poe house is nice, but the kiddos' don't usually find that fun... take in a baseball game Camden yards is right there as well. Go see Lexginton Market - a huge indoor market where you can get everything from fish to pigs feet to seafood to fruit! Fells Point is a nice area of Baltimore where there are shops. I would go somplace where you can eat steamed crabs or get crab cakes - both area favorites. While in Baltimore you need to speak like the locals... say 'Hon' a lot - like "How's your day today Hon?" and listen carefully when they talk - slurring and the accent can take a bit of getting use to... example it isn't Baltimore it is pronounced Bawlmer. AND it isn't Maryland it Murlind so Bawlmer Murlind. Look for Berger cookies at Lexington market - a cake like cookie with thick chocolate icing -to die for! Have fun!

    1. Wow Victoria, thank you so much! We are staying downtown a few blocks from the Inner Harbor, so we'll definitely be roaming around there. And, we're going to a ball game tomorrow night. We'll be sure to check out some of your other suggestions. That market sounds fun, just to get the cookie if nothing else! :)

  15. Miss Shirley's cafe in the harbor is a great breakfast/brunch place. Red star in Fell's point is good. Harbor east has a lot of great places too. Regi's American bistro is good too. Lebanese taverna in harbor east is another good place. City cafe, brewer's art are other good choices. Amicci's in little Italy is a casual place with good food. Woodberry kitchen is a farm to table resturant but usually hard to get reservations. Have fun in our city!!
